I’m Johnny.

I’m a photographer based in Christchurch, working with couples and families across all of Aotearoa — with a quiet specialisation in weddings.

My approach blends journalistic storytelling with a contemporary, editorial edge. I’m drawn to the moments that unfold naturally — the quiet glance, the tearful laugh, the stillness before the ceremony begins. The most genuinely beautiful and emotionally resonant images are rarely posed. They happen when people forget there’s a camera in the room.

That’s why I work with an unobtrusive, low‑key presence throughout your day. My goal is simple: to capture your wedding with honesty and authenticity, so that years from now you can look back and feel as though you’ve stepped right back into every moment.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples reach out 9–14 months ahead, though I do occasionally accept enquiries inside that window. Peak season (Nov–Mar) tends to book first.

Do you travel outside Christchurch?

Yes — I work across all of Aotearoa, from Queenstown elopements to Northland coastlines. Travel within the South Island is included in every collection; nationwide travel is quoted simply at cost.

How many photos will we receive?

A typical full‑day wedding delivers 400–600 hand‑edited images, depending on the rhythm of the day. I send everything that earns its place — no fillers, no duplicates.

When will we see our photos?

A handful of sneak‑peeks land in your inbox within a week. The full package is delivered within four weeks of your wedding.

What if it rains?

Some of the most extraordinary photographs I’ve made have happened in weather. We’ll have a back‑up plan, but I’d encourage you to embrace whatever the day brings — the imagery is often the better for it.

Do you photograph elopements and small weddings?

Absolutely. Intimate days are some of my favourite work. Bespoke half‑day and elopement collections are available on enquiry.
